Fredrick Guess Studio
Fredrick Guess made a bold move in 1997, leaving his native Florida and relocating to New Orleans. Purchasing a French Quarter building on Royal Street, he opened an art and antique gallery on the first floor and resided in an apartment on the second floor.
A little over a year later, a space became available in one of the Miltenberger houses on the opposite side of the block. This space had advantages Guess could not pass up – it had the feel of a gallery and, more importantly, had natural north light which made it a perfect spot for him to set up a painting studio. In another brave move, Guess quickly sold his building, left the antique business altogether and devoted himself solely to his art career.
It didn’t take long for his risks to pay off handsomely. Fredrick Guess now enjoys wide acclaim in the New Orleans art scene and his work has been granted a number of prestigious placements.
