The mission of All Souls Community Center is to dismantle the cycles of poverty and violence in New Orleans’ Historic Lower Ninth Ward community by helping children achieve grade-level proficiency in reading and mathematics. We seek to create the necessary conditions to raise healthy children through youth programming and intentional partnerships.
Founded in 2007, our nine community services include: (1) 9AM Sunday church service, (2) after-school tutoring program, (3) Math/ELA summer camp, (4) youth violin orchestra, (5) Saturday sewing classes, (6) food pantry for neighbors, (7) computer lab access including fax and copy capabilities, (8) meeting space for local groups and (9) short-term housing for volunteer groups.
