Faheys Irish Bar
540 Burgundy New Orleans, LA 70112 504-586-9806
There are more celebrated Irish bars in the French Quarter, but there aren't any more intimate. Which makes this the preferred Vieux Carre choice for those who like to experience a real Irish pub in the wee hours of the morning, far away from the madding crowd. The beer selection is solid, with Guinness and several other famed Emerald Isle brews on tap, and unlike many of its brethren, Fahy's is also a good place to shoot stick, with two working pool tables (no small consideration in the Quarter) and an impressive soundtrack in the pub's jukebox. The pub's location, north of Bourbon and not far from N. Rampart, gives it a friendly, neighborhood bar feel, it also means you'll want to be a little more careful walking there and back. Espeically back.
